The Runaways | Queens of Noise

This song rocks. I especially like the break where Jett and Fox take over the vocals. Killer song for your Saturday listening..

Friday

The Runaways album covers. Their first album is my favorite. It's just cool.

Now, look at their followup album, Queens of Noise and the cover. It is hokey and just looks dated and goofy with the disco smoke and dance pole.

The follow up album, Live in Japan, is even less cool. It looks like a line up for a disco roller skate team..

That stinks because Live in Japan is a great Runaway's album. The look was caught up in the late 70's dress code of the day.

Which is interesting because when The Runaways were putting out the final album for this group member lineup, music was changing. Quickly. Joan Jett was picking up on the trends in England as the infant "punk" movement was taking hold.

Search out your local record stores for these great albums, With the Runaways' popularity on the rise, expect the original vinyl to be hard to find.

The Runaways

Formed in 1975, the groundbreaking "all girl rock band" the Runaways, defied all the odds to become one of the greatest groups of their time. Not only did they capture a huge international audience over their four years together, the Runaways also launched the careers of several well known musicians.

Check out their hit, "Cherry Bomb" from their famous 1977 tour of Japan.

Dig those Bowie inspired hair dos and satin shorts!

The 70's rocked!
